Valentino Perfume & Women's Fragrance

Founded by Valentino Garavani in 1960, Valentino S.p.A. has grown into one of the most successful luxury brands in the present. After the Italian fashion genius retired in 2008, the dynamic design duo Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli took over the brand’s creative direction and were able to combine the rich history of the house with a modern approach to design, creating some of the most successful Valentino collections of all time. Their famous Rock Stud collection includes shoes and garments adorned with square studs which were inspired by the details on historical Roman doors. These pieces caused a stir on the runway and has been especially successful in the footwear section. Whether it is boots, sandals or espadrilles - especially in recent years Valentino has developed an excellent reputation for their innovative and wearable shoe designs.

Valentino have always been famous for their Haute Couture collections consisting of beautiful and intricate made-to-measure dresses which are all hand-made on site in their Roman atelier by around 60 master craftsmen and women. With a price tag of around £50,000, the luxurious gowns are reserved for the rich and famous and have been red carpet favourites. As part of the Haute Couture line Valentino also offers bridal gowns and wedding shoes. Some of the company’s most famous clients include Anne Hathaway, Princess Madeleine of Sweden, Jennifer Lopez, Elizabeth Taylor and Jackie Onassis, who all said yes wearing Valentino.

Other than clothing, shoes and accessories, Valentino also offers a catalogue of fragrances for men and women. Initially released in partnership with Procter & Gamble, Valentino perfumes are released through Puig since 2010. The brand’s debut fragrance was the floral signature scent Valentino for women (1978). After this initial release there was no new Valentino fragrance until the 90s, which brought us the immensely popular Very Valentino for women (1998), a floral green fragrance with strong notes of Magnolia, Violet and musk. Amongst the most famous Valentino scents from the 21st Century are the floral perfume Rock’n’Rose and the Valentina collection introduced with the oriental floral Valentina in 2011. Other fragrances from this collection include the floral fruity Valentina Pink perfume from 2014 with notes of strawberry, blackberry and musk in the top, a floral heart of rose and peony and a sweet base consisting of amber, cashmere wool and praline, and the oriental floral Valentina Poudre (2016) which conveys confidence with a powdery top note on a floral heart and a base of vanilla and sandalwood.
