La Perla Perfume & Women's Fragrance

La Perla was originally just a lingerie brand but has since expanded into beach wear, bags, shoes and perfumes.

It was founded in 1954 by Ada Masotti in Bologna, northern Italy. She used to sell her lingerie in exclusive red velvet lined round boxes that looked like a perfect pearl (la perla in Italian). The pearl was seen as a symbol of harmony, luxury and femininity, exactly what Ada wanted with her designs, and hence she named her company La Perla.

La Perla has adapted itself throughout history, they launched bright colourful lingerie in the 60’s, the triangle bra in the 70’s and in the 80’s La Perla was the first company to design underwear that was supposed to be seen. Since then La Perla designs have been see in several films, most women will remember the scene from Casino Royale where James Bond emerges from the sea in his blue La Perla trunks. Said trunks later sold for a whopping £44.450.
Victoria Beckham wore the La Perla Cage Bustier in the video for the Spice Girls’ reunion song; Beyoncé wore La Perla in her video “Partition”, Katy Perry and Madonna posed in “V” magazine in La Perla Brief – the list is long and celebrities love this exclusive luxurious lingerie brand.
