Abercrombie & Fitch Perfume & Women's Fragrance

Abercrombie & Fitch was founded in 1892 as an exclusive sporting and hunting goods retailer in the Manhattan borough of New York. The founders, David T. Abercrombie and Ezra H. Fitch, specialised in selling quality goods such as fishing rods, tents and expensive shotguns. The company's success only lasted until 1976, when bankruptcy finally forced the closure of their flagship store in Manhattan. Luckily the brand name was revived in 1978, which is when the journey to become one of the most adventurous and daring women's fashion and fragrance retailers began.

Abercrombie & Fitch was initially relaunched as a mail-order retailer for hunting wear and novelty items, but by the mid 1980's they had opened new stores in New York, Beverly Hills and Dallas. It is this revival which caught the eye of The Limited, a large clothing-chain operator based in Ohio. They bought the rights to Abercrombie & Fitch and soon developed it in to the casual luxury lifestyle brand we recognise today. The company's daring advertising and philanthropy has allowed for consistent high-profile coverage in the media, which of course caught the public eye. So much so that they now have several subsidiaries such as Abercrombie Kids, Hollister Co and Gilly Chicks, and are now operating more than 1000 stores worldwide. Women's Wear Daily even referred to Abercrombie & Fitch as classically “neo-preppy” with trend-driven designs that have a reputation for durable quality and luxury.

Their selection of women's perfumes may not be as expansive as other fashion brands, but they have certainly made an impression to last and we can be sure to expect more from them in the future. Whether you prefer the sumptuous bouquet of 8, their first women's fragrance, the elegant freshness of Perfume #1, or the floral fruitiness of Wakely, you are sure to fall in love with their range of fashionable women's fragrances.
