Acqua di Parma Cologne & Men's Fragrance

Acqua di Parma is an Italian company that sells luxury goods, most notably fragrances and candles. They are known for their brightly coloured round boxes and their exquisite colognes. The company began as a small perfume factory in Parma, Italy and have always specialized in the light and airy compositions of this region, quite unlike the heavier scents of other European perfumers. Their main fragrance, Colonia, was created in 1916 and the fresh and lemony cologne, created with natural ingredients from the region, made the company known all over Europe.

In the 1930's Acqua di Parma began using their now iconic bottles and boxes, making their scents instantly recognisable. Soon, Hollywood stars interested in Italian fashion and luxury goods were using Colonia and the company continued to grow in both size and reputation. With time Acqua di Parma began to offer more products than their original Eau de Colognes, including scented candles, leather goods and fragrances for women.

The company is now part of the LVMH luxury empire and is bigger than ever, with several boutiques and even a spa resort in Venice. Despite the increased size, the company still takes the utmost care in creation of their products, using only the best natural ingredients. Even the iconic bottles and boxes are still made by hand to ensure the optimum quality.

Among their best known fragrances you find the first ever creation, Colonia (1916), a fantastic cologne and precursor of many modern scents for men. It has also been released in modern editions such as the aromatic Colonia Club (2015) which brings out the mint and lavender of the original Colonia cologne. In the late 90's they debuted a new series of unisex fragrances, Blu Mediterraneo, inspired by the Mediterranean and its scents, flavours and culture. Among the newer entries in this series are scents like the excellent Mirto di Panarea (2008) with fresh myrtle and Calabrian lemon. The Collezione Barbiere series focuses on men’s grooming, providing shaving cream and aftershave balms with the same quality as their famous fragrances.
